Dr. Nishikant (Nish) Sonwalkar (ScD, MIT), Founder, CEO and Inventor
Former Professor of Engineering at the University of Massachusetts, Boston, and Research Scientist and Director of the Hypermedia Lab at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. A pioneer in solar energy technology, specializing in Molecular Dynamics simulations and Raman Spectroscopy research for advanced material interfaces and nanomaterials.
His groundbreaking research in advanced materials and solar applications led to the development of Photonic Smart Coating Technology. Current research focuses on spectral conversion of solar radiation and light-matter quantum interaction for photonic and plasmonic electrical enhancements in nanocrystals.
Besides photonics and plasmonic research and development, Dr. Sonwalkar is regarded a pioneer in adaptive learning technology for STEM education. At MIT, he provided leadership for numerous distance educational technology programs including Open Knowledge Initiative (OKI), Physics Interactive Video Tutor Project (PiVOT), Museum Loan Network (MLN), Microsoft campus Project and Physical Geology Tutor.
